Description
Namu Myōhō Renge Kyō is the title and central chant of Nichiren Buddhism, expressing devotion to the Lotus Sutra’s Mystic Law. This text-based design presents the phrase as a direct reference to a practice established in thirteenth-century Japan.
The romanized chant forms four staggered white lines on the left, balanced by a narrow vertical column of traditional characters on the right. Uneven, brushlike letter edges lend the otherwise simple bilingual arrangement a hand-rendered quality.
Style and Wear:
Support the off-center white calligraphy with wide-leg gray trousers and understated black footwear. A short open jacket keeps the vertical character column uncovered and maintains the design’s asymmetrical balance.
